In winter the river estuary and wetlands are blessed with low, rolling sea mists that bring ethereal vibes to the fields and grasslands.

Here our large Kitchen Garden yields an enormous variety of homegrown produce, with beef from our family farm grazed on the neighbouring Elmley Nature Reserve, and game from our family shoot on the Harty estate. A true taste of the Kent landscape around these country cottages.

We are blessed with the abundance of wildlife that surrounds the Cottages. A unique habitat combining countryside and coast has made Harty in Kent home to half of the UK's Harrier population, as well as many other birds of prey, game birds, water birds and migratory species, not to mention the many farm and country creatures found among the fields and hedgerows.
